All women of Carmichael Presbyterian Church (CPC) are considered to be Presbyterian Women. Active members are those who choose to participate in the organization’s small groups that gather regularly. All others are encouraged to attend events and to work on occasional projects or functions.
The Purpose of Presbyterian Women
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
…to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study;
…to support the mission of the church worldwide;
…to work for justice and peace;
…to build and inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom
Bible Study
Bible study is a key element in each circle meeting. Each year, our PW participates in the chosen Horizons Bible Study. This study time is open to all in the church and especially planned for the Bible Study leaders of the individual circles. A pastor or selected leader provides the insight and background for the study. Usual time and place for the monthly is the second Thursday of the month (October – May) at 9:30 am in the Howard Crowley Room.
Circle Meetings
Circle meetings are scheduled at various times and are held monthly to inspire and motivate woman toward growth in the faith journeys through planned Bible study, involvement in the church and the community, and the development of lasting friendships.
